Information about daycare

We believe in treating all the children with lots of love and attention. We have 3 children of our own. I started my daycare 4 months before my oldest was born-Open 1992.
Licensed Group Family Daycare Home-Enrollment- We are Licensed for 12 children ages 6wks-12yrs old and 4 additional B/A school children (but that doesn't mean we enroll that many)
ABOUT PROVIDERS:
Providers are First aid and CPR certified
Smoke free and safe enviornment
We are a family like enviornment. The enviornment is peaceful, simple, and safe. Allowing the parents to feel secure leaving their child/ren in a secure and familiar atmosphere.
Hours Of Operation are currently 630am-5:00(5:30) if needed and approved with provider
DAYCARE IS OPEN:(50 wks a year)
Daycare is closed on some holidays and providers take 3 sick and 3 personal paid days a year
2 week vacation (no pay)
(all arranged at the begining of the year and handed out to parents to plan for) have done this way for 20plus yrs (have only closed 1 time that wasn't scheduled) We are very reliable providers
ALL MEALS PROVIDED: We serve nutitrous meals and snacks.
For Infants we provide Enfamil with Iron (If you would like another kind Your welcome to bring it)
We welcome breastfeed babies.
We can provide baby food when Provider and Parent feel the Child is ready
For children over 1 we provide a well balanced breakfast, lunch and snack
Milk(whole milk for children under 2 and over 2 get 1%-breakfast and lunch
Grain-breakfast and lunch
meat or alternative-lunch
2 (vegetables or fruit) or 1 of each for lunch
1 vegetable or fruit for breakfast
Snack consists of
water
1 fruit or vegetable and
1 grain
We provide seconds of the meal if child asks for it, we do family style serving
SICK POLICY:
Children are allowed to come to daycare midly sick(colds etc.) State law requires no children with fevers over 101 and no diarrhea, throwing up,or flu
24 hrs after a fever has broken before a child can come back to daycare after being sent home-same with diarrhea or throwing up
24 hrs after the start of antibiotics and no fever can a child come back to childcare
MEDICATION: We do not dispense any medications-prescription or over the counter. We can apply tropical creams and sunscreen as long as it is not a prescription.
PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY:
Diapers and wipes and 2 change of clothing everyday
A package of diapers and wipes can be left here if you like
and clothing can stay here if updated for every season change
We will let you know when your child is running low
POTTY TRAINING:
I will assist with potty training but parents need to do the same thing at home
SPACE:
We use our downstairs floor for daycare-living room, kitchen, playroom, and ( 2 downstairs bedrooms and living room for napping)
INSIDE: We have a computer for the kids -that have educational games-we have toys for dramatic play, creative play, circletime (weather wheel, calendar) storytime, baking and cooking, games, puzzles, music, we work on writing letters and numbers (age appropiate) Music and movement and lots of one on one time with providers. We hold babies and toddlers and play with them and give them lots of love and attention.
OUTSIDE: We have a very large fenced in yard with a great Playground. In the summer children can help with our daycare garden. We explore bugs and birds.
ANIMALS: Providers have 2 very lovable Jack Russells, 3 cats (who don't come around the children) and 2 Cockatiel birds, in their cage all the time.
EQUIPMENT: I have 6 portable cribs, every child has there own crib or mat with sleeping bag, 4 highchairs, lots of toys (I pull out toys and equipment from storage (20yrs plus of stuff). In the summer I have a bounce house and huge water slide and I have riding toys and huge playground.
SCHEDULE: We do have a daily schedule (it is flexible). I believe children need
a schedule-routine but I do like spontaneousness when occassions arise.
We play a variety of games, read a variety of books, and do a variety of activities-age appropiate
Arts and Crafts that will help develop fine motor skills and help children be creative
Children help cook and bake through out the year
Free play help to develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills
Lots of all kind of outdoor activities-inspire, experimenting, fun and friendship
WE Change Diapers and Children go to the Bathroom when Needed
7:30am-9:00am children arrive (they have free play)
9:00-9:30am eat breakfast
9:30-10:00 activity with children
10:00-10:40 were outside with children (unless bad weather)
10:40-10:55 we come in take off shoes, jackets, Take care of outside toys
10:55-11:15 read books or small activity
11:15-11:30 wash hands and get ready for lunch
11:30-11:55 lunch
11:55-12:10 bathroom time and get ready for naps
12:15-2:15ish nap time
2:15 ish-2:30 bathroom time (wash hands)
2:30-3:00pm get ready for snack
3:00-3:30 snack time
3:30-4:00 free play (get ready to go outside if nice out)
4:00-outside or plan activty
4:30 get ready to go home and independent play
